The Vision Process

 Pastor Poju was reading out a scripture this morning and I saw/heard something that rearranged my theology...



Many of us use this scripture when we set goals and visions..


“Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it."

Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV



And so we think up these things, write it down and start going after it with reckless abandon..

In the process, we hit roadblocks, have collisions that make us cry, and then come back to God wondering where we got it wrong...


We say 

"But we wrote the vision..We made it plain, we showed people and together we chased its fulfilment"



Well, bro/sis, you're missing a vital component... and honestly until early this year, I'd not seen it either and I've been doing this "execute your vision" thing for many years now...


Back up a little to the beginning of that chapter....

What does it say???



I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart,

And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. 

Then the Lord answered me and said:

“Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

Habakkuk 2:1-‬2 NKJV



Bro/Sis.

We have gotten the order wrong ..

The vision does not originate from us..

It must originate from God


We must first go to God in Prayer with a blank slate, not with our own prejudices or biases or good ideas but as a blank slate...

And then we must let Him give us the vision to pursue...

This is why when people see it, they'll run with it

It is because there's a Higher force propelling the vision. 



This is when you can be sure that the next verse will ring true..


For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV



This is what gives you a guarantee that come what may, you will succeed....

You will know without a shadow of a doubt that it will happen...because whatever and whoever comes to stand against you is also standing against God...

This is how men like Adeboye and Oyedepo and Oral Roberts and the rest of them have built spiritual and secular institutions that still stand to this day despite overwhelming opposition..

It started with and came from God...



This, my friends, is the missing link, this is the reason we're not seeing powerful manifestations of the Spirit in our endeavors as we ought to....

This is a very bittersweet thing I'm saying... Even to me..

It means I have to make serious adjustments... throw away all the plans I've cooked up from my head..go to God and ask "Sir. What will you have me do?"


For someone with a bias for action, it's almost a nightmare🤣



And the "scary" thing is that God can say anything....

Anything at all!!!!!!

🤣🤣


But this is the way to go.

He will not defend what He didn't initiate...


Like Habakkuk, let us go back to God and hear what He has to say...

Then we execute ruthlessly..

Selah!



Oh...

And this is the solution to envy & Jealousy..

If you do this, there'll be no basis for envy...you'll be genuinely happy for people

because you'll be running according to the pattern you're shown...

There'll be no need for unhealthy comparison... You're running on your lane and the other person on theirs...

Everybody is happy🤷‍♂️

God is wise sha oo🙌



No "aspire to perspire to maguire" would have told Moses to divide the red sea or given Joshua the boldness to command the earth and constellations to cease movement for a time...


If God didn't send you, you will struggle and most likely perish...



You might be saying..

"But what of Elon Musk & Jeff Bezos?"


See..

You're a believer..

The devil will not be smiling with you and opening doors for you..

If you don't have heavenly backing, you will suffer or at best, enjoy mediocre success...

Hear this word now oo.



Better buy new notebook, go back to God and say...


"Sir...this is a fresh new notebook... Forgive my earlier foolishness... I was a clown.. I have sense now... 

What do you want me to do?"

Moses was in Midian shepherding sheep.

If, at his 80th birthday, you had asked him where he saw himself in 5yrs, he'd have said...

"Shepherding more sheep"

🤣


Omo..

Humans don't like giving up control of their lives....letting someone else dictate...

But see!! If we must do great things, that is exactly what we'll have to do

A situation can arise that even your friends and family (both nuclear and extended) will desert you... Everyone will think the absolute worst about you....even yourself.. God is the only One who will refuse to give up on you.. He will extend His Hands and embrace you...and He will help you.. As long as you are joined to the living, He will keep trying to help you... The most reliable friend any man can ever have.... This is why Moses, David, Peter and the Apostles... When they truly caught a hold of Him...they refused to let go.. They could let go of anything and everything else except God.. Because really, anything and everything and anyone and everyone else has a melting point where they just have to let you go....except God..  God will never let you go.. He will stick with you until your dying breath....   And if you trust Him with your life...when you open your eyes on the other side of eternity.. He will be there with you still...
